8 Years, Two Wheels, and a Sharpened Gaze

Acht Jahre lang führte mich mein täglicher Arbeitsweg mit dem Rad durch die Natur und entlang der Straßen. Doch wer genau hinsieht, erkennt schnell: Unsere Wege sind leider nicht immer sauber. Was als gelegentliches Aufheben von Müll am Straßenrand begann, entwickelte sich zu einer festen Routine.

For eight years, my daily commute by bike led me through nature and along the roads. But if you look closely, you quickly realize: our paths are unfortunately not always clean. What began as occasionally picking up trash by the roadside evolved into a fixed routine.

Egal ob auf dem Weg ins Büro oder später beim entspannten Spaziergang mit dem Hund im Wald – mein Blick schweifte automatisch zum Boden. Überall lagen sie: Dosen, Glasflaschen, Plastik.

Whether on the way to the office or later during a relaxed walk with the dog in the forest – my gaze automatically drifted to the ground. They were everywhere: cans, glass bottles, plastic.

Mehr als nur Müll

More Than Just Trash

Oft waren es weggeworfene Pfandflaschen. Irgendwann stellte ich mir die Frage: „Wie viel habe ich über die Jahre eigentlich schon von der Straße aufgesammelt? Welchen Wert hatte dieser Müll eigentlich?“

Often, they were discarded deposit bottles. At some point, I asked myself: "How much have I actually picked up from the street over the years? What was the actual value of this trash?"

Daraus entstand die Idee zum Pfand-Tracker.

That's how the idea for Pfand-Tracker was born.

Wichtig: Diese App ist nicht dafür gedacht, den Kasten Sprudel in deiner Küche zu zählen. Sie ist für die Macher, die Draußen-Unterwegs-Seier und die Umwelt-Helden.

Important: This app is not intended for counting the crate of soda in your kitchen. It is for the doers, the outdoor enthusiasts, and the environmental heroes.

Der Pfand-Tracker soll all jenen ein Werkzeug geben, die nicht einfach wegsehen. Er soll den Müllsammlern da draußen zeigen, dass sich ihr unermüdlicher Einsatz für eine saubere Umwelt nicht nur moralisch auszahlt, sondern auch ganz real in Euro und Cent.

Pfand-Tracker is meant to give a tool to all those who don't just look away. It is intended to show the trash collectors out there that their tireless commitment to a clean environment pays off not only morally but also quite realistically in euros and cents.
